The work, in the order it was designed.

The work leads with the screens and campaign executions that demonstrate the speed, range and quality of the internal capability.

01

Final product and campaign system

Digital product, loyalty, sports, media and content experiences delivered as one scalable internal capability.

Discover needed an internal team that could move with agency-level quality and enterprise-level accountability.

High-visibility campaigns, mobile experiences and account-center work were moving across multiple internal groups and outside partners. The opportunity was to build a credible internal capability that could absorb volume, protect brand quality and collaborate across the organization.

The challenge combined people, process and design: staffing the right mix of talent, creating repeatable systems and still delivering urgent work tied to major launches.

Own the experience, not just the screens.

I built and led the internal UX and digital capability, managed a flexible team of designers and freelancers, and connected Brand, Ebiz, Mobile, Social, email, targeted marketing and external partners.

Research translated into decisions teams could build from.

01

Build

Established the team, workflows and credibility needed to operate within roughly three months.

02

Systematize

Created reusable design and campaign approaches that could flex across devices, placements and partner requirements.

03

Deliver

Supported high-volume paid media, mobile, account-center and social work while maintaining visual consistency.

04

Scale

Expanded the capability to support major initiatives including Super Bowl activity and the Miles Card launch.

OUTCOME

The team became a functioning internal business capability.

The department generated more than $1 million in billings, supported over $400,000 in annual savings and delivered approximately 200 paid-media placements per quarter. Just as important, it gave Discover a faster and more integrated way to execute digital work without sacrificing quality.

The design output mattered, but the larger achievement was organizational: creating a repeatable capability that could keep delivering after any single campaign ended.
